Laminated Art Glass was chosen
for the end walls of the glass wintergarten, located between the two
mansions, which house the library. A clear seedy glass laminated to
a tempered base sheet of plate glass comprised one side of an insulated
unit. Some of the units measure over 14' tall, which required multiple
pieces of seedy glass laminated to the continuous base sheet of tempered
glass. The seams between sheets of seedy glass are aligned with the
horizontal mullions. The seedy glass introduces a texture that evokes
a hand-made quality while still providing obscurity.
